Lucky Eleven

It’s that time of year again where I celebrate the anniversary of Ask Leo! by sharing some of the off-the-wall questions that I’ve received over the course of the year.

This year the number seems smaller than usual. Not sure if we’re holding our weirdness to a higher standard, or if the number of oddball requests is decreasing.

Nonetheless, exactly as submitted, with the answer I’d love to give, this years WTH (What The Heck? – or something like that) questions.

10th Anniversary Randomness

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Ask Leo!

What a long, strange, trip it’s been.

Made stranger by some of the questions I get. 🙂

Here’s this year’s collection of the odd, the strange, the goofy … the “WTF?” questions I regularly get, exactly as they were asked – and the answers I’d love to give.

For what it’s worth, this year the “wierdness rate” has decreased – not sure why. There weren’t quite as many to choose from. Perhaps people are getting smarter. Perhaps overall traffic to Ask Leo! was down this year. However it does seem like this years smaller batch includes some who tried extra hard at being … odd.

Who do they think I am?

On the eighth(!) anniversary of [Ask Leo!](http://ask-leo.com) it’s time once again for “those questions” – the odd, bizarre and inexplicable that I get throughout the year.

Along with the answers I wish I could give.

As always, every question is a real question I’ve received via [Ask Leo!](http://ask-leo.com) within the last year, _presented exactly as I got it_ (except that any potentially identifying information will have been removed).

And as a reminder, [Ask Leo!](http://ask-leo.com) is a *tech* site where I answer *computer* questions. How or why these questions get asked I really have no idea…

So here they are, directly from my “WTF” folder as I collect ’em all year long:

Lucky Number 7

Once again on this 7th anniversary of Ask Leo!, it’s time for the annual wrap-up of the odd and the weird questions that show up in my question bin.

Given that I have seven years of these kinds of questions coming at me, you’d think I’d take it in stride. I guess in a way I do, but still … every so often I find myself just shaking my head and wondering … what were they thinking?

As always, every question is a real question I’ve received via Ask Leo! within the last year, presented exactly as I got it (except that any potentially identifying information will have been removed). Each “answer” is the answer that I’d be oh-so-tempted to give…

Year 6 of Wierdness

Another year of Ask Leo! and the questions don’t fail to inspire … and
dissappoint.

Here’s this years collection of the odd, the strange, the off-the-wall quesions.

As always, every question is a real question I’ve received via Ask Leo! within the last year, presented exactly as I got it
(except that any potentially identifying information will have been removed). Each “answer” is the answer that I’d be oh-so-tempted
to give…

(For perspective – remember that Ask Leo! is a tech site where I answer computer questions. Makes some of the following even more … puzzling.)

5 Years. And some things never change.

August 10th marks the 5th anniversary of Ask Leo!. Technology changes, some things come and go, but one thing
that never changes is the stream of the odd, the strange, and the
downright … ok, I’ll say it … stupid questions that show up in the
Ask Leo! question queue.

As has been my tradition, it’s once again time to clean the question
barrel, so here are this year’s collection of odd questions scraped
from the bottom.

As always, every question is a real question I’ve received via Ask
Leo! within the last year, presented exactly as I got it (except that
any potentially identifying information will have been removed). Each
“answer” is the answer that I’d be oh-so-tempted to give…
[Warning: there may be “bad words” in some of the
questions. You’ve been warned.]

Those “Other” Questions

Today’s the fourth anniversary of Ask Leo!,
and that means it’s time to collect up some of the questions that you didn’t
see me answer. You’ll soon see why. We’ve got quite the bumper crop this
year.

As always, every question is a real question I’ve received via Ask Leo!
within the last year, presented exactly as I got it (except that any
potentially identifying information will have been removed). Each “answer” is
the answer that I’d be oh-so-tempted to give…

[Warning: there may be “bad words” in some of the
questions. Y’all been warned.]

Enjoy.

Another year of odd ones

Today marks the third anniversary of Ask Leo! – more on that in tomorrow’s
newsletter.

But as I’ve done twice before, here’s this year’s sampling of some of the
funny, odd or not-so-technical questions I’ve received in the last year on
Ask Leo!.

Note: As always, all questions are absolutely real,
exactly as they come in – complete and unedited.

The “answers” here are what I wish I could reply with. (I typically do not
respond to these types of questions at all.)

The Questions You Didn’t See

A sampling of some of the funny, odd or not-so-technical questions I’ve
received in the last year on Ask Leo!. All
questions are complete and unedited – this is exactly the way I get ’em,
folks.

I have a 14′ v shape boat. It has a crack in the front, along the
seam in the middle. Would HTS 2000 brazing work or is there something else that
i should be using?

Two words: Duct Tape (Hey, you ask a computer guy about boat
repair, you get what you get, ok?)
